I remember drawing in my school notebooks in Primary School. It wasn't called 'art' back then, just having fun and passing time.

I've done art independently since childhood. ALong the way I've had friends who are also passionate about art. I studied economics in uni, all-the-while doing my art in my own time. I've learned a lot from experimentation, friends, and the internet.

My inspirations and influences change over time. Real life events are my biggest influence. Nature, social commentary, media theorists (Neil Postman and Marshall McLuhan) philosophy and economics have all influenced my work.

I get my ideas from real life events. These range from personal social observtions to larger global events.I then look for ways to make these, often difficult, ideas more approachable and comprehensible.

An artist is a person who makes art. Creativity, sincerity, awareness, and energy are qualities that I like in artists. Philosophically artists can be the central nervous system of their societies. We can give voice to the unspoken, and provide an alternative consciousness.

It depends on the art we're talking about. Some of it means a lot, some of it notsomuch.

They all have their pros and cons. Drawing is fast and intuitive, words can get an idea across very clearly, paint has a character of its own that you have to vibe with by immersing yourself in painting, digital isn't fenced off by the traditions and expectations of older media, tufting has a methodical process to it. I try to pick the right medium for the specific project.

My next piece of art is my favorite. Because I'm alive and the future is bright.
What are the biggest challenges you face when creating art?
There aren't enough hours in a day. I've had to train people to help with some tasks. Space and some unusual materials can be a challenge, but not more than time.
How do you know when a piece is finished?
It's usually obvious. There's no formula, I rely on creative instincts to know when to move on. If I'm just tryig to make it neater, it's finished.
